Obituary for Ruth Alice Marhefka

Ruth  Alice  Marhefka
West Boylston-Ruth A. (Goodmanson) Marhefka, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a period of declining on Monday, December 31, 2018.  She is pre-deceased by her beloved husbands Walter E. Marhefka and Henry Plesnevich.  She is survived by her two children; Janet Schreiner of West Boylston; and Walter E. Marhefka & wife Barbara of Sutton; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Amy Bennett & Joshua, Elizabeth Corbett & Sean, and Cindy Gleason & Michael; 3 great-grandchildren, Joshua and Onalie Bennett, and Ryan Gleason; step-children, Richard Plesnevich, Robert Plesnevich, and Susan Kapor & husband Ramesh; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  She is pre-deceased by her two siblings, Robert Goodmanson and Margaret “Peg” Notaro.  
Ruth was born in Clinton to the late Gustave & Cora (Lucies) Goodmanson.  She graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1948, and later continued studies at Quinsigamond Community College.  In addition to raising her family, Ruth worked as an administrative assistant for several area companies including the Colonial Press, Phalo Wire & Cable, Mohawk Wire, and FW Webb.  Upon retirement, she enjoyed many years in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Ruth was a woman of great faith and former member of Our Lady of Jasna Gora Parish in Clinton.  She was a skilled seamstress who enjoyed knitting, and a talented cook and baker. She loved polka dancing and was happiest while in the company of her family. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a calling hour prior from 9 until 10:30AM.  Burial will be held in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth Marhefka to the West Boylston Fire Fighters Association, 39 Worcester St., West Boylston, MA 01583. Online condolences may be placed at
