Clinton-Phyllis A. McNally, 86, passed away with family by her side on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. She is survived by generations of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She is pre-deceased by two brothers, James E. McNally, Jr. & Michael A. McNally.
Phyllis was born in Clinton to the late James E. & Rita (O’Toole) McNally. She was a graduate of the Clinton High School, Class of 1953, and Chelsea Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Following a tour of duty as a Naval Nurse at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Phyllis returned home to work as an operating room nurse at the Clinton Hospital for many years. She also enjoyed part time employment as an associate with Macy’s Department Store at the Solomon Pond Mall until ultimately retiring. Phyllis always kept up with current events and was an avid mystery reader and sports fan. Known for her sense of humor, Phyllis possessed a keen Irish wit and always brought laughter to every conversation. Per Phyllis’ wishes, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately at St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster.
