Clinton-Paul “Baldy” Baldassarre, 64, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, December 16, 2021. He is survived by his brother, James Baldassarre & wife Jackie of Clinton; sister, Nancy DiGisi of Tallahassee, FL; generations of adoring nieces and nephews:
Jason Taylor, Kelly, PJ, and Kevin McDonnell, Bianca, Hillary, and James Baldassarre; Ryaleigh McDonnell, Frankie and Lucy Taylor; aunts and uncles, Ellen Klenert & Oskar of Mashpee; extended family and many dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his father, Alfonso Baldassarre, mother Gloria (DiGisi) Lombardi, step-father Dominic Lombardi, sister MaryAnn Taylor, and uncle Michael DiGisi.
Paul was born in Chelsea, raised and educated in Clinton, and was a graduate of the Clinton High School, Class of 1975. Following studies at North Adams State College, Baldy went to work at the International Golf Club in Bolton and never left. He proudly served on the Town of Clinton Personnel Board for many years and was a member of the former Our Lady of the Rosary Parish. Generous, kind, compassionate, and charming, Paul won the friendships of everyone he encountered and gave selflessly to his community through volunteer work and fund raising efforts for numerous charitable causes. Among his many pleasures, he was an avid golfer, ice fisherman, card player, and sports fan. Baldy enjoyed tending bar at the PAV and was a legendary patron of the Crystal Club and Lou’s Diner. He always thought of others before himself and was blessed with a wonderful life and true friends. Calling hours will be held from 4 until 7PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster.
