Clinton-Leopoldina “Pola” Rosario Del Orbe, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Fitchburg Gardens. She is survived by her husband, Felix De Leon; her children, Clara Castro, Margarita Castro, Fori Castro, and Yoni De Leon, all of New York City; Quelvin De Leon & wife Celeste of Clinton; and Felix De Leon of Leominster; her brother, Roberto Rosario & wife Toni of Dominican Republic; 25 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her siblings, Ana Mercedes, Guillermina, Altagracia, Eladio, Ramon, Pepe, Pipio, and Chiche Rosario.
Pola was born in Pimentel, Dominican Republic, daughter of the late Edilio Rosario & Mercedes Del Orbe. In addition to raising her children, she was a career educator who enjoyed a 30 year career as an elementary school teacher before retiring. She emigrated to the United States in 1978 and lived in New York City until relocating to Clinton, where she has resided for the past seven years. A woman of great faith, she was a member of the Clinton Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and Dominoes. She was passionate for reading and music, cooking for others and indulging in tasty desserts. A hard worker who always sacrificed for her family, above all, Pola was a devoted matriarch, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and teacher. A Calling Hour will be held from 10 until 11AM with a Funeral Service to follow at 11AM on Friday, August 30, 2019 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.
