Obituary for John E. Morris

John E.  Morris
North Grafton-John E. Morris, 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 7, 2022.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Pauline (Dalbec) Morris; step-children, Kathryne Sonnett of Grafton; Joseph Dupuis & wife Sharon of Griswold, CT; Christopher Dupuis of Swanville, ME; and Jason Dupuis & wife Jennifer of Costa Mesa, CA; grandchildren, Caroline & Jackson Sonnett, Renée & Evan Dupuis, Isabella & Radley Dupuis; nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.  He is pre-deceased by his granddaughter Mary Ames Dupuis and his brother Charles A. Morris.  
John was born in Lynn, son of the late Charles W. & Apphia (Sprague) Morris.  He graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1958 and Maine Maritime Academy, Class of 1960.  John proudly served our nation in the Merchant Marines and US Army National Guard.  Blessed with a mechanical mind, John spent his professional engineering career with several companies, including Factory Mutual Engineering, Stone & Webster, and FM Global, from where he ultimately retired.  Among his many achievements and certifications, John was a Third Class Engineer in the Coast Guard, Certified Quality Assurance Engineer, and Licensed Stationary Engineer.  He was a devout Catholic and member of Saint Benedict Center in Still River.  John was an avid reader and a loyal Patriots fan.  He was a devoted family man, loving husband, father, and grandfather.  The Morris family wish to express their deepest gratitude and love to John’s hospice team, primary and secondary nurses, aide, and social worker who excelled in their commitment to John and family.  A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 9:30-10:30AM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A Requiem Mass will then be celebrated at 11AM at Saint Benedict Center-Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 282 Still River Road, Still River.  The family requests that all guests attending please observe the monastery dress code. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of John E. Morris to: Saint Benedict Center, P.O.
