Condolence: Dear Penny, Maureen and the Pendergast family,
My sincere condolences to Penny, Maureen and family on George's passing. I knew him in the context as a Commodore in the USCG Auxiliary and he truly encompassed the USCG values of "Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty". He will be profoundly missed and leaves very large shoes to fill. May you have comfort in the knowledge that he touched many people and lived a life well lived.

Condolence: To the entire Pendergast family,
My deepest condolences to all of you on the loss of George. Being a neighbor on Randall Road during my teen years, I always remember George at mass at St. Joseph's, as my science teacher at Tahanto, and later in life meeting up with him at meetings at Reliant Medical and while I was working at Turner Hall during his boating classes. A gentle giant, always friendly and something kind to say. May he rest in peace and all of your fond memories of him comfort you in this most difficult time.

Condolence: I am so sad to hear of the passing of George Pendergast who, to me, will always be thought of as "Doc Pendergast" -- I loved his spirit and support of the girls Field Hockey and Softball Teams where he acted as our very own Athletic Trainer long before such positions were introduced to schools. He patched me up on more than one occasion, making sure "his girls" were safe before going back into the game. As my own kids grew up, I realized he was like our very own Mrs. Frizzle or "Bill Nye the Science Guy" during my H.S years and I felt so thankful for someone who worked so hard to get his students excited about science.

as I sit and reminisce about my high school years I have so many fond memories of classes with him in Biology and Anatomy ~~ he inspired me with his dedication to our class (he was an advisor for multiple years to the Class of '78) and as Class President, he was always there with exceptional "advice" to myself and our other Class officers.

Tahanto was blessed with many caring teachers fortunately, but he was one of the best and most dedicated to his students by being both supportive and approachable and I will always think of him as one of the VERY BEST teachers who truly inspired his students over many years.

You have my condolences on your loss and he has my prayers...he will surely be carried "home" on eagles wings ~
with affection,
Marcia (Corcoran) Lichtenwalner

Condolence: I never knew George as an adult, only as a high school classmate. But I can still hear his laugh and close my eyes and see him driving Bill’s tractor. George knew himself as few of the rest of us did, was proud of it and stuck to it. I admired that authenticity in him, God rest his soul.
