I am so sad to hear of the passing of George Pendergast who, to me, will always be thought of as "Doc Pendergast" -- I loved his spirit and support of the girls Field Hockey and Softball Teams where he acted as our very own Athletic Trainer long before such positions were introduced to schools. He patched me up on more than one occasion, making sure "his girls" were safe before going back into the game. As my own kids grew up, I realized he was like our very own Mrs. Frizzle or "Bill Nye the Science Guy" during my H.S years and I felt so thankful for someone who worked so hard to get his students excited about science. as I sit and reminisce about my high school years I have so many fond memories of classes with him in Biology and Anatomy ~~ he inspired me with his dedication to our class (he was an advisor for multiple years to the Class of '78) and as Class President, he was always there with exceptional "advice" to myself and our other Class officers. Tahanto was blessed with many caring teachers fortunately, but he was one of the best and most dedicated to his students by being both supportive and approachable and I will always think of him as one of the VERY BEST teachers who truly inspired his students over many years. You have my condolences on your loss and he has my prayers...he will surely be carried "home" on eagles wings ~ with affection, Marcia (Corcoran) Lichtenwalner
