Lancaster-Frank Jackson “Jay” Savell, Jr., 58, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln following a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Renee (Welling) Savell; three children, Justin M. Savell of Holden; Sarah Savell, and Kate Savell, both of Lancaster; his father, Frank J. Savell of Clinton; his siblings and their spouses, Robin Langberg and husband Thomas of Lancaster; and Mark Savell and wife Barbara of Hudson; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lynne (Tewksbury) Savell.
Jay was born in Brookline, raised and educated in Framingham. He graduated from Framingham South High School, Class of 1979 and briefly studied at Berklee College of Music. While his greatest passion throughout his entire life was music, Jay spent the majority of his career journey in several industries in a variety of sales positions. It is likely that all who knew Jay could name at least one or two bands in which he played. The list is long but here are a few to prompt your memory, Robin & The Hoods, Airborne, Chase the Dragon, Herding Cats, Special Ed, and Ironstone Road. Above all, Jay loved his family and was happiest while simply being ridiculous and entertaining his children. He will be forever remembered as an amazing husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Trinity Church, Congregational, 14 Wattaquadock Road, Bolton. A period of visitation will be held in the church prior to services from 12 until 1PM. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton.
