Clinton-Edwin H. “Huck” Burgwinkel, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Evelyn (Nichols) Burgwinkel; his children & spouses, Ronald Burgwinkel & Theresa, Margaret Finch & William, Edwin Burgwinkel, Jr., Gary McCaffrey & Angela, Kevin McCaffrey & Cathie, Denise McCaffrey, and David McCaffrey; brother-in-law Willis Hatstat; extended family Mary Ann & Patrick McLaughlin, Isobel & Clement Martyn and family.  He leaves his grandchildren and their spouses, Ronnie, Tyler, Michael & Mary, Marc, Eric & Kelly, Patrick & Micaela, Alyssa, and Jessica Burgwinkel, Lisa Smith & Jacob, Timothy Finch, Emily Polk, Krista Weaver & Jonathan, Kyle, Staci, Samantha, and Shane McCaffrey, Shane, and Jessica McLaughlin; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Juliana, Lexi, Shae, Patrick, Jameson, Brielle, David, James, Eliza, Izi, and Alex; many nieces and nephews, notably John, Walter, and David Burgwinkel, and Jason Hatstat and family; numerous cousins, and many dear friends, especially his long time hunting buddy Phil McArthur.  He is pre-deceased by his first wife Elizabeth (Hatstat) Burgwinkel, two sons, Steven Burgwinkel and Michael Burgwinkel, grandchildren, Michael Finch and Sydney Burgwinkel, brother Arthur Burgwinkel, and step-grandson Marc Carrol. He will also be reunited with his many canine and feline friends who have gone before him.    
Son of the late William & Margaret (Baer) Burgwinkel, Huck was born, raised, and educated in Clinton.  He began his professional career with the Colonial Press, worked in construction, and was a custodian for the Corcoran School before becoming a wastewater treatment engineer for MCI Shirley, from where he retired after 23 years.  Huck was a life member of the Clinton Turners and a former coach of Clinton Little League baseball.  An accomplished outdoorsman and gun enthusiast, he held membership with G-O-A-L and the NRA, and enjoyed countless hunting and fishing trips to Alexander, Maine.  Always giving of himself to help others in need, Huck was well known to play Santa during the holiday season and all year long.  He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  If you were his friend, you were his family!  A calling hour will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 9:30-10:30AM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a graveside service to follow at 11AM in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Edwin “Huck” Burgwinkel to either: CARE Food Pantry, 80 Union St., Clinton, MA 01510, or WHEAT Community Connections, P.O.
