Carolyn E. Harris (Christiansen)
Lancaster-Carolyn E. (Christiansen) Harris, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Sterling Village. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Cecil E. Harris, and their daughter Mardell Harris. She is survived by two sons, Dean Harris & wife Carole of Boylston, and Michael Harris & wife Pamela of Lancaster; her brother Charles Christiansen & wife Susan of Berlin, VT; two grandchildren, Kristen Cromwick & husband Vance, and Matthew Harris; and great-granddaughter Adalynn Cromwick, all of Lancaster; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is pre-deceased by her two sisters, Helen and Virginia.
Carolyn was born in Newport, Vermont, daughter of the late Peter & Olive (Bennett) Christiansen. She graduated from Derby Academy in 1951 and achieved her professional degree from Barre Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. Carolyn spent her distinguished 50 year career in nursing dedicated to caring for others in numerous hospitals and nursing homes throughout Vermont and Massachusetts. She served as a long-time nurse at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, Assistant Director of Nursing at Coachlace Nursing Home in Clinton, and Director of Nursing at Birchwood Rehabilitation Center in Fitchburg. She was a woman of great faith and devout member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with burial to follow in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster.
