Obituary for Shelly Kathleen Kennedy-Leonard

Shelly Kathleen  Kennedy-Leonard
Lancaster-Shelly K. Kennedy-Leonard, 45, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She is the beloved wife of 14 years to Matthew C. Leonard; and cherished mother of Sadie and Harrison Leonard. She is the daughter of Kathleen Kennedy-Tuttle & Stanley of Bolton; daughter-in-law of Mary & Lawrence Leonard of Shrewsbury; sister-in-law of Luke & Betty Leonard of Leominster; Katie Ferrie & Robert of Shrewsbury; and Nathaniel Leonard of Sterling. She leaves numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Shelly was born and raised in Marlborough, and was a graduate of the Marlborough High School, Class of 1990. She achieved her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology and School Adjustment Counseling from Fitchburg State College. Shelly was adored professionally and personally in her position as a guidance counselor in the Marlborough Public School System. She was a woman of great faith and active volunteer in various capacities through the First Church in Sterling. Shelly was happiest in her role as wife and mother. Her greatest joys were watching her children’s sporting events, summer vacations in York Beach, trips to Cape Cod, walking her dogs at George Hill and throughout Lancaster. Blessed with an abundance of friendships that were of great support to Shelly and her family throughout her illness, the Leonard and Kennedy-Tuttle families wish to express their gratitude to Dr. David Shepro and the staff at St. Vincent Hospital Cancer and Wellness Center, as well as the loving care provided at Rose Monahan Hospice Home. Funeral services are to be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 4 until 7PM.
