Obituary for Suellen J. Smith

Suellen J. Smith
Lancaster-Suellen J. Smith, 62, lived an amazing life. Born in Syracuse, New York to the late Walter & Frieda (Koennecke), she was raised in Brookfield and graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School, Class of 1973. She continued studies at UMass-Amherst and obtained her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Regent University. Blessed with an abundance of talent and intellect, Suellen devoted her life to helping others. She was above all, a woman of great faith. She served her church community as a coordinator of children’s ministry; she was a former foster home director and proud foster parent. Professionally, she enjoyed success after establishing her business, SJ Smith Consulting, providing organizational development and leadership skills training to various companies throughout the Northeast. She was currently employed as an HR Specialist for Hebrew Senior Life in Roslindale, where she enjoyed overwhelming friendship. Suellen delighted in entertaining; she was happiest while preparing tea for visiting friends and family, or while decorating her pristine home and preparing feasts for holidays and gatherings. She possessed exquisite taste and an affinity for the finer things in life, collectible antiques, and anything pink. Suellen will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her siblings and their spouses, Roselinda Smith Wood & Ronald of East Brookfield; Sandra Griffith & George of Dahlonega, GA; Daniel Smith of Phoenix, AZ; Annemarie Baker of Syracuse; and Hon. Lorelei Smith Miller of Burke, NY. She was the devoted “Aunt Telly” to generations of nieces and nephews, friend and colleague to countless others. Family and friends are kindly requested to wear pink while attending services to honor the life of Suellen Smith at calling hours, which will be held from 4 until 7PM on Friday, September 22, 2017 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, and her Funeral Service, at 11AM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at TriLife Church, 166 Holden St., Worcester.
