Obituary for Dorothy Martinath (Armstrong)

Dorothy  Martinath (Armstrong)
Clinton-Dorothy (Armstrong) Martinath, 98, passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, July 24, 2017. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Walter E. Martinath, who died in 1995 and infant daughter Jill Audrey. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Walter J. Martinath & Susan of Salisbury Beach; Diane Cummins & William of Clinton; Dale Kristoff & Richard of Princeton; and Bonnie Martinath-Towne & Keith of Pepperell; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She is pre-deceased by siblings Joseph Armstrong, Florence Forhan and Shirley Tomolo.
Dorothy was born in Worcester to the late Joseph & Alida (Deschenes) Armstrong and was raised and educated in Worcester. Dorothy worked for many years at the Colonial Press in Clinton. She also worked at the Lancaster School for Girls and Madonna Hall in Marlboro from where she ultimately retired. She was a woman of great faith and member of the United Church of Clinton. Dorothy was a cat lover. She had many hobbies including Bingo, Yahtzee, crocheting, knitting, entertaining, and watching her Red Sox beat the Yankees. What she enjoyed most in life was being with her family and friends. She was a devoted matriarch to her family and will be forever missed by all who knew her. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11AM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with calling hours prior from 9:30 until 11AM. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy Martinath to: Corcoran House-Activities Fund, 40 Walnut St., Clinton, MA 01510.
