Worcester- Elizabeth Ann (Perla) Joyce, 79, formerly of Clinton, passed away peacefully at Rose Monahan Hospice Home on Wednesday June 28, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Gerald T. Joyce; survived by her children: Craig M. Joyce & his wife Cindy of Auburn NH; Lee Ann Rempelakis, wife of the late Thomas Rempelakis, of Marlborough; and Daniel G. Joyce of Sandown, NH. She leaves her brother Paul A. Perla & his partner Rea Laccone of Beverly Hills, CA; sister-in-law Betty Perla of Clinton; 3 grandchildren, Lauren Wojtowicz and husband Eric, Luke Daniel Joyce, and Lena Rose Joyce; great-grandson Gabriel T. Wojtowicz, loving cousin Rosemarie Perla of Pittsburgh, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is pre-deceased by sister Joan Leahy and her twin brother Donald Perla.
Betty, as her family and friends called her, was born in Clinton to the late Attilio and Lena Perla. She attended local schools, graduated from Clinton High School, Class of 1955, and was a loving, compassionate, and committed “stay at home mother” who sacrificed and dedicated her early years to providing a wonderful home to her beloved family. Family was her passion and the epicenter of her being. She eventually utilized her phenomenal personality and worked in retail at Marshall Fields in Chicago, and Petite Sophisticates in Worcester. She loved to travel extensively with her husband and the Rempelakis family annually throughout the Caribbean and especially Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure to have known her especially her neighbors Tom and Charon Quinn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, and burial is to follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate wherever your heart guides your donation in Betty’s name.
