Obituary for Joseph J. Kulis

Joseph J.  Kulis
Clinton-Joseph J. Kulis, 89, passed away peacefully at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on Friday, June 16, 2017 following a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marion (Burgoyne) Kulis; their children and spouses, Joseph T. Kulis & Karen; Tom Kulis & Nancy; Lynn Trautner & Russell, all of Clinton; Faith Fallon & Mark of Fitchburg; Marla Hostuttler & Tom of Pittsburgh, PA. He leaves his sister Mary Alexander of Clinton; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Schmidt, Allison, Timothy, and Brad Kulis, Rachel Souza, Alyse Martinez, Michael Santoro, Sara Sawall, Roxanne Luna, Alec and Evan Hostuttler; 3 great-grandchildren, Adam, Skyelynn, and Mariah; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. He is pre-deceased by siblings Rose Wiencek, Ann Parsyck, Helen Barnes, Walter, Peter, John, and Edward Kulis.
Joseph was born in Clinton to the late Jan & Rozalia (Radock) Kulis. He graduated from the Clinton High School, and began his lifelong career as a carpenter with his family business Burgoyne Construction, until his retirement. Joe was a man of great faith and devout lifelong parishioner of the former Our Lady of Jasna Gora Parish and current member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton. He held membership with the Knights of Columbus and Clinton PAV. Joe took pleasure tending to his yard and many gardens and fishing with family at Race Point Beach. He enjoyed cross-country skiing trips and was a dedicated fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics. Above all, he was a devoted family man who most enjoyed time spent in their company. Calling hours are to be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 9:30 until 11AM in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster.
