Obituary for Mary Louise Rogers

Mary Louise  Rogers
Clinton-Mary Louise (Joyce) Rogers, 82, passed away peacefully at Clinton Hospital on Saturday, May 20, 2017. She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Edward W. Rogers, who died in 2008. She is survived by her sister Dorothy LeBlanc & husband Joseph of Leominster; her nephew Alan LeBlanc & wife Julie; and great-nephews, Matthew and Andrew LeBlanc, all of Epping, NH; and many dear friends.
Mary Lou was born in Clinton to the late Martin P. & Sarah (McHugh) Joyce. She graduated from St. John’s Grammar School in 1947, Clinton High School in 1951, and Fitchburg State College in 1955. Mrs. Rogers achieved her Master’s degree in Education from Worcester State College and enjoyed her career as an elementary school teacher in the Clinton Public School System. She was a proud member of the Massachusetts Teacher’s Association, North Worcester County Teacher’s Association, and the Clinton Hospital Guild. Mary Lou was a woman of great faith and active life long member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton. Mary Lou loved music and was a talented pianist and dancer. She was most proud of her Irish heritage and was fortunate share extensive world travel with her husband Ed. She will be forever remembered as a devoted wife, loving sister, adoring aunt, dedicated teacher and loyal friend. Funeral services are to be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5 until 7PM.
