Obituary for Rev. Edward S. Nicewicz

Rev. Edward S.  Nicewicz
Clinton-Rev. Edward S. Nicewicz, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his brother Walter Nicewicz of Annadale, VA; several nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, and many dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his sister Bernice Nicewicz.
Rev. Nicewicz was born in Clinton to the late Edward & Bernice (Gwiazda) Nicewicz. He graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1946, and studied at Boston College before enlisting to serve our nation in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He returned home safely and completed studies at the Seminary of Saints Cyril & Methodius in Orchard Lake, Michigan. Rev. Nicewicz was ordained a priest on February 3, 1962 and served his ministry in the Diocese of Worcester until 1986. In retirement, he passionately cared for his ailing mother for several years until her death. Rev. Nicewicz was most proud of his Polish heritage, and possessed a keen intellect with vast knowledge of history and politics. He was a voracious reader and dedicated sports fan with great interest in horse racing. He will be dearly missed and remembered lovingly by family and friends.
