Obituary for Blanche Marion Marhefka (Mills)

Blanche Marion  Marhefka (Mills)
Lancaster-Blanche “Marion” (Mills) Marhefka, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Bradenton, FL Healthcare Center following a brief illness. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, William J. Marhefka; two daughters & their spouses, Debora LaManna & John of Bradenton, FL; Diane O’Malley & Michael of Sarasota, FL; two sisters, Emily Belanger of Clinton; and Dolores Jenkins of Berlin. She leaves 9 grandchildren, John William McGraw, Meghan O’Malley, Robert O’Malley, Jennifer O’Connell, Penny LaManna, and Fran DelVecchio; 6 great-grandchildren, Brooke and Harper McGraw, Lilly O’Malley, Jack O’Connell, Seamus and Jake Callahan; brother-in-law Frank Radock of Clinton; numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by three infant children, William, Robert, and Christine, and her siblings, Ruth McNally, Mae Pierce, Dorothy Botko, Sarah Radock, Bobbi Gavin, Theresa Carbone, Alice Botko, and Harold Mills.
Marion was born in Clinton to the late Dennis & Blanche (Reardon) Mills, and attended local schools. In addition to raising her family, Marion worked for more than 20 years with the Colonial Press in Clinton, before joining the Digital Equipment Corp., from where she ultimately retired as shipping supervisor. In retirement she and her family relocated to Bradenton, Florida, where they have enjoyed the past seven years. Throughout her lifetime Marion was a devout parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in Bolton, and an active member and past President of the PAV Women’s Auxiliary. She took pleasure in crochet and was an avid bowler and golfer. Marion was very proud of her Irish heritage and devoted to her family. Funeral services are to be held on Monday, October 10, 2016 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, 808 Main St. Bolton, with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 5 until 7PM.
